The online defensive driver safety course is approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles
This course will allow you to study at your own pace and in the convenience of your home, office or anywhere on your laptop or cell phone where there is an internet connection. The Online Defensive Driver Safety Course must be completed within 30 days in a minimum of 320 minutes in length. You can log on using a user name and pass word to study the course a few minutes in the morning, an hour during the day, evening, the next day or at any time you wish.

10% off your insurance, 4 points off your record
The person completing a course must be the principal operator of the
insured vehicle in order to be eligible for insurance reduction. After taking this course you will receive in the mail, the point/insurance reduction course certificate which is good for 3 years. You are eligible to receive point reduction once in 18 months. Points which are reduced remain on a motorist’s record, but are not counted by the department in determining further administrative actions against the license. Point reduction does not affect actions mandated by statute, such as license revocation for three speeding convictions within 18 months. Point reduction does not affect suspensions or revocations already in place. Present the certificate to your insurance company (if you are the principal operator of a motor vehicle) so that you can receive 10% reduction, for three years, in the base rate of your current automobile liability, no-fault and collision premiums. You will also receive a reduction of up to 4 points off your driving record. This course can be taken every 3 years for insurance reduction and every 18 months to remove points off your driving record.
